Admissions
All Faiths Welcome
St. Margaret Mary is a Catholic school for grades Preschool-8th grade offering a faith based education for families in McHenry County.
We welcome families of all faiths who value a faith based education. We respect the diversity of beliefs. Our school imparts teachings from the Bible, values, and morality from the Catholic tradition. Our students attend weekly mass, learn Catholic prayers, and participate in special activities that celebrate the seasons of the Catholic Church.
For non-Catholic students, we focus on deepening their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and promoting interfaith understanding. Our faculty and staff dedicate themselves to ensuring that all students feel respected, valued, seen, and loved. We have a commitment to tuition assistance so that your family can afford private school education.
We embrace students from diverse denominations and do not attempt to proselytize them to Catholicism.
Admissions Policy
Saint Margaret Mary Catholic School admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admission policies, athletic or other school administered programs. Children are admitted to Saint Margaret Mary Catholic School on a “first come, first served” basis within the following guidelines. The order in which students will be admitted is as follows:
- School age children of families who are presently enrolled in our school, pre-school through eighth grade.
- School age children of families who already have siblings in our school, pre-school through eighth grade.
- School age children of school and/or parish staff members.
- School age children of registered parishioners who are already on a waiting list.
- School age children of registered parishioners not on a waiting list.
- School age children of Catholic families who are registered parishioners in another parish.
- School age children of other faiths.
In the event we have more in school families than spaces available, admission will be given to the children of the families with the most years of seniority in the school. After seniority, admission will be given to the family who registered first. This will be followed for any grade level where we have more children than spaces available.
