ISBE – Update

Dear St. Margaret Mary Families,

This week, the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Public health released guidelines and recommendations for Illinois schools to resume in-person learning this fall. At this time, we are reviewing the document and seeking additional guidance from the Office of Catholic Education.
I know that families have many questions about the fall and what that will look like for our students.   Our goal is to work with the ISBE guideline, the Office of Catholic Education and a reopening team to respond to the requirements and guidelines while keeping the health, safety, and quality of education of our students at the forefront of our planning.

Please know the information received this week was released to us at the same time as it was released to the public.  St. Margaret Mary is working hard to create and refine reopening plans for our school.  In addition, I am gathering answers to the questions you may have and look to communicating the plans for reopening to our families in mid-July.

Thank you for your continued support, patience, and flexibility during this time.

I am looking forward to seeing all our students and families in the fall.

In Faith,

Brenna O’Hearn
