Principal Notes – 11/02/18

Happy All Souls Day!

This has been a very busy week for all of our students and staff.  Thank you to all the parents and students that helped at the Halloween Fun Fair. It was a great night for all of our families.  The week we celebrated All Saints Day with our annual All Saints Day Parade.  The students did a great job representing the saints.  Our student were reminded that we are all saints in the making.  Finally, today we concluded with our first quarter honors/sports assembly.

Things to know:

Dine and Share:  WOW! Another successful dine and share.  This week our Dine and Share earned $732.44!  Thank you to all the families that came out in the rain to help support STMM. Our next Dine and Share is on Wednesday, November 7.  Enjoy Buona Beef for LUNCH or DINNER. The Dine and Share runs from 10:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Halloween Candy:  Do you have too much Halloween candy at your house? Looking to support STMM?  We are collecting extra Halloween Candy this week in the school office.  STMM will be donating the candy to help support our troops, and in return the we will receive a donation for the school. This could be a win for everyone!

Scholastic Book Fair: This week the students will have an opportunity to check out the Scholastic book fair.  New this year will be time before school for students to purchase books.  Books can be purchased by students from 8:30 -9:00, Wednesday and Thursday morning.  Parents have the opportunity to purchase books during parent/teacher conferences.   Attached is additional information about the book fair. Veteran’s Day Assembly:  We are still looking for veterans to honor at our annual Veterans Day Assembly.  Below is a message from Mrs. Peterson about the assembly.

Dear St. Margaret Mary Families,
St. Margaret Mary School has a long-standing tradition of honoring our veterans. An all-school assembly will be held on Monday, November 12 at 2:15 in the school gym. If you or a family member is a veteran, active or retired, please consider joining us for this special tribute to you and your service. The assembly will last approximately 30 minutes, and you will be able to sit with your family.
Please contact me no later than November 5 if you are able to join us. I will send home a short questionnaire for you to complete which will be read by an 8 th grader during the assembly.
Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you on November 12.
Thank you,
Mrs. Janet Peterson
