Dear STMM Families,
We hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. On Tuesday, the teachers will be attending professional development with the other deanery schools. We will be able to spend some time working collaboratively with teachers and learning about school safety.
Something to think about:
The struggle can be real for many families over having children read each night, but reading is an important skill to develop. To start, give your child something that interests them – if they love sports, let them read a magazine about their favorite sport. We can foster a love of reading by encouraging our children to read something they want to know more about. If your child struggles, encourage your child to first look at the pictures or titles – this can help build confidence. At dinner time share something your read during the day or ask questions about the book your child is reading. Finally, take a little time to read to your child, they are never to old to listen to a story.
